The Natural Hedonist 2024

I work at the University of Bristol as a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences. I teach mammal diversity, evolution, bat biology and bioacoustics. My research involves molecular ecology, bioacoustics, ecology, conservation, global change and evolutionary biology, especially focusing on bats. I have also managed projects on birds, crocodiles, crayfish, insects, marsupials and primates around the world. I am passionate about the natural world. I've provided links to my research pages on Google Scholar and ResearchGate for those interested. The links on the top left will take you to a month-by-month diary of my birding trips, illustrated with photographs. For information about what's in my camera bag and image processing, go here.
