  2. Night Heron. 2 on rock island, near M, 10/4.
  3. Squacco heron. M, and flock of 22 E 12/4.
  4. Cattle egret. 1, F 11/4.
  5. Little egret. Up to 6 E, ca. 10 nr Pafos airport 14/4.
  6. Grey heron. Up to ca. 20, E.
  7. Purple heron. 1 E, 12/4.
  8. Glossy ibis. At least 2, Oroklini Marsh 11/4. 32 past M, 12/4, possibly up to 100 in distant flocks offshore.
  9. Tufted duck. Female on a pool, E, several dates.
  10. Marsh harrier. Two males in off the sea, M 9/4; 12/4
  11. PALLID HARRIER. Female in off the sea, MF 14/4.
  12. Kestrel. Widespread. 4 birds together from the coach near F 11/4 may have been lesser kestrels.
  13. ELEONORA'S FALCON. One off P 14/4 chased by a yellow-legged gull.
  14. Chukar. Heard near E.
  15. Black Francolin. Heard near M and E.
  16. Quail. Heard M12/4. One flushed near airport, 14/4 (first one I've seen).
  17. Moorhen. Up to 2, pool, E.
  18. Black-winged stilt. Several F, 11/4.
  19. Stone Curlew. P (1, 13/4; 2 15/4), E (2 - 14/4), nr airport 2 14/4.
  20. Collared pratincole. 2, P 13/4.
  21. Little ringed plover. 2 E, 12/4.
  22. Kentish plover. 2 P, 13/4.
  23. CASPIAN PLOVER. MF, 14/4, female (a male appeared at the same place next day!)
  24. Spur-winged plover. F 11/4; Pafos sewage works12/4; M, 2 on 14/4.

  27. Wood sandpiper. E 10/4.

  51. RED-THROATED PIPIT. Up to 5, P, most on 13/4.
  52. 'Yellow' wagtail. Groups of up to 50 birds, mainly blue-headed, large numbers of black-headed also.
  53. White wagtail. Few seen - up to 2 M.
  54. Common nightingale. Many along coast, including one hiding under rocks on the shore, M.
  55. Whinchat. Up to 3 M, several P.
  56. Isabelline wheatear. One MF 14/4.
  57. Northern wheatear. Common. Very variable in plumage.
  58. Cyprus wheatear. 1, F 11/4.
  59. Black-eared wheatear. F M12/4. Dark-throated type.
  60. RUFOUS-TAILED ROCK THRUSH. Male E, 12/4.
  61. Cetti's warbler. Several heard.
  62. Zitting cisticola. Several singles M, MF, E.
  63. Sedge warbler. M 12/4. Singing male.
  64. Eurasian reed warbler. Singing males heard, E.
  65. Eastern olivaceous warbler. P 10/4; 15/4.
  66. Subalpine warbler. Up to 2 M ,10/4.
  67. Sardinian warbler. Common in Pafos area. No Cyprus warblers seen this trip.

  72. COLLARED FLYCATCHER. Male P, 13/4.
  73. Great tit. Common. Endemic race aphrodite.

  75. Woodchat shrike. P, E and near hotel.
  76. MASKED SHRIKE. Males at E 12/4, P13/4.
  77. Magpie. Several, usually pairs.
  78. Hooded crow. Common.
  79. House sparrow. Common.
  80. Spanish sparrow. Isolated groups - seen M and P.
  81. Greenfinch. Common.
  82. Goldfinch. Common.
  83. Linnet. Common.
  84. ORTOLAN BUNTING. First seen 10/4 E. Afterwards many seen cycling to MF 14/4, ca. 5 P 15/5.
  85. Corn Bunting. Several singing males. P.
