In April 1991 I participted in a flight energetics symposium at Gothenburg, sweden. Afterwards Jens Rydell took me to see flocks of migrating cranes at Dagsnas and lekking black grouse. I stayed in a hide overnight with photographer Erling Schon, and was awoken at dawn by the bubbling calls of the lekking male grouse, which I watched while eating fresh prawns.
