Australia 1989

This was my first 'big' trip overseas, and we flew to Cairns via Singapore en route to the International Bat Conference in Sydney. Anna and I travelled through a series of National Parks in Queensland between Cape Tribulation in the North, ending up in Brisbane. After a week in Sydney, I spent a further 2 weeks at the University of Queensland studying the foraging behaviour of Myotis adversus (now macropus) around the Brisbane area using multiflash photography, and I also recorded echolocation calls from some Australian bats.
